HP EVA 4400 satp

Hi All,

Having read the latest best practices for the EVA I thought I'd check the SATP from my EVA and while all the disks are listed as AULA as expected, I see the controller using the default AA.

Do you think this Is correct or do I have a problem?

many thanks

great findings!

http://communities.vmware.com/message/1459201 also reported this issue, this lun is 1 management lun from HP EVA and it does not support ALUA, this lun should be managed by VMW_SATP_EVA;

vSphere 4 Update 2 should have fixed this issue, please recheck, thanks

Thanks Binoche,

I found that thread when trying to identify if it was an issue, your comment regarding the use of VMW_SATP_EVA is confusing me, I thought this SATP was not used by the EVA (which has been outed in the best practices)

You say Update 2 should have fixed this? Do you mean it will - Sorry I'm not trying to be difficult it's just the statement leds me to believe that update 2 has been released.

Thanks again Binoche

sorry for your confusion;

right, for HP EVA luns other than management lun 0, VMW_SATP_ALUA should manage them, you can have a double check;

as I know, Update 2 still not released, but this issue should be fixed on this release;
