File system block size

Hello,

I'm looking for a way to edit file system block size.

I want to setup block size for those elements :

/

/boot

/home

swap

/tmp

/var

/var/core

/var/log

I'm using ESXi 5.0 U3.

Thank you.

With the release of vSphere 5.0, VMFS (VMFS-5) block size has been fixed at 1 MB.  It's not settable at the user level, as far as I know, like vSphere 4.x.

Forgot the link: VMware KB: Frequently Asked Questions on VMware vSphere 5.x for VMFS-5

All the best,

Mike

This is for a security policy purpose.  I need to validate the information on our infrastructure.

Your security policy dictates a blocksize... That is probably the weirdest use case ever :smileyalert:

Anyway, you cannot alter the ESXi partitions as you would lose support for sure.
