Equallogic 6100 and MD 3000i same network

Has anyone used a Equallogic and a MD3000i on the same network? I recently heard from Dell that the two should be seperated and put on their own vlan/vSwitch/pNICs.

We were having some retransmit issues (1 - 1.5% during backups) and they are pointing to the fact they are on the same network.

Any insight would be appreciated.

To be honest that is the behavior I would expect under heavy load - saturaturion of the network and dropping of packets - I am sure that is the justification for their recommendation

Per Equallogic support - I have moved the MD to its own vlan/vswitch/nic - shockingly, the retransmits persist during our Veeam Backup window. Anyone else experience retrasnmits during their backup window?
