EVA 5000 issues

Hey all - running ESX 4.1 and EVA 5000 with the 4100 firmware, and I'm having issues getting the ESX box to see the LUNs I carve out.  I have verified that the ESX server sees the path to the EVA in ESX (selecting the HBA ports and checking the Path), and I am presenting the LUNs to the ESX server within CommandView, but when I try to add storage to the ESX server it never sees the LUN, no matter how I search it.  Is there a step I'm missing here, such as a config on the ESX server, in order to see LUNs?  Any help/guidance would be welcome - thanks.

I assume you are aware of the fact that the latest supported ESX version for the EVA5000 was ESX 3.0!?

Anyway, did you configure the host OS as "VMware" in CommandView? (see http://h20000.www2.hp.com/bizsupport/TechSupport/Document.jsp?lang=en&cc=us&taskId=120&prodSeriesId=...)

Yup - I am aware of that Smiley Happy.  If it were otherwise I would contact support rather than the forums.

Yes, I definitely selected VMware as the OS when adding the host in CommandView.

You may want to check whether there are any helpful messages in the vmkernel logs (http://kb.vmware.com/kb/1021800) after performing a rescan on the storage adapter.
