    Hi all,

There is an alert which keeps popping up on SCOM which says "ESX Host VMHBA has exceeded threshold for totalWriteLatency".

I checked few websites and came to know that it means the issue is with SAN. Is it right?

If not, what is the resolution for the same?

HI, yes this is pointing to an issue with your storage/connectivity to your storage. Have a look at this link - http://communities.vmware.com/blogs/virtuallysi/2009/07/27/disk-latency-connecting-to-a-fc-san

You can use esxtop to get a better idea of what is going on.

Do you have a dedicated storage team? Can this also be looked at from the SAN end?

Yeah we do have a team for storage. The reson I asked this was that this alerts keeps popping up in SCOM and the alert count just shoots up.

Anyway, thank you for the information. I'll talk to my storage team for the same :smileyhappy:
