ERR connecting a LUN on MSA1000 - Esxi 4.1

Hello,
I installed -for test purposes- an Esxi 4.1 server on a Proliant BL20p blade connected via fibrechannel to a MSA1000.
The server was previously installed with W2003 and the system accessed the mapped LUN on MSA1000.
During installation of Esxi I saw the option to install the system either on local disk either in MSA LUN, that has been cleaned up.
After installation I see in datastore TAB of VSphere (connected with VCenter 4.1 where I integrated the new Esxi) that I have only one datastore -local-, so I add a datastore. I selected the MSA LUN correctly listed and I finished the wizard. After the last "OK" I have the following error:
Call
"HostDatastoreSystem.CreateVmfsDatastore" for object
"datastoreSystem-89" on vCenter Server [VCENTER HOSTNAME] Failed
Where is my mistake?
Thanks in advance,
Davide

Hello,

How are you adding your LUN to the ESXi? make sure you are enabling the SSP, and enable it. Then from the SSP assign the LUN which you have created to the HBA WWN of the ESXi Server.

It should work without any issue, I have used it with 4.0 ESX and ESXi as well

Hello,

I resolved the issue myself.

First of all I noticed that all expansion in the array has been finished (yesterday there was an array expansion in progress)

Then I modified the Hostmode of the LUN: ctrl wwn="500805F3001AE2B9" modify ai=500508B200C81A73 hostmode=Linux

Now the attach has been successful.

Thanks all for the support!!
