I am working with a client that has 2 SQL VMs using disks on VMFS storage. Both VMs are using 2 of the same disks. 1 has 6 other disks that the other is not using. Both see the non-OS disks as read only. The OS disks are on VMFS 5 datastores, and the data disks are on VMFS6 datastores. Additionally, the OS disks are connected using LSI Logic SAS controllers and the data disks are using paravirtual controllers. What might be the cause of the data disk appearing as read only?
