Hi,
I was wondering if it is possible to modify the configuration of the SCSI communication between the ESXi and the storage. For example, I have seen that every 300 seconds, the ESXi sends a SCSI message: "Test Unit Ready LUN" to all the ports. Is it possible to modify this time and increase it or reduce it?
Thanks
This is probably Disk.PathEvalTime. By default it is 300 seconds, but can be tuned through the advanced settings.
I could be wrong, but I thought this only happened when a path was down and the ESX host is checkign to see if it is back online. Are all your paths optimal?

Hi,
Thanks for your answer, it helped. I found this link about how to modify it: http://kb.vmware.com/selfservice/microsites/search.do?language=en_US&cmd=displayKC&externalId=100437.... However, it only applies for ESX 3.0. Following the instructions a cannot find that value in ESXi 5.0. Do you know where can i find it?
And answering your question, it is sent always, not only when it detects a failure. It is like a keep_alive mesasge.
/proc has been deprecated a while. You will have to get at it from the Advanced Options in the UI.
Ok Thanks.
Can you send me a link about how to use the UI or better, with some commands to configure the Advance Configuration.
Thank you a lot
