We have three new LUN:s available, but we cant add them.

what did you observe in VMkernel log.

Also, ESX/ESXi host does not support 2 terabyte LUN size.The largest LUN size which can be presented to an ESX/ESXi host is 2TB - 512 Bytes.

Our disk is 2199023254528 bytes.

The limit of 2 terabytes translates to:

2199023255040 bytes

2 199 023 255 040 - 2 199 023 254 528 = 512 bytes

Max is 2TB - 512 Bytes, as our, 2199023254528. Or am I wrong?

/var/log/vmkernel tell us nothing.

Try to create datastore using  those LUNS and makse sure you select 8MB as Block size.

Im following this guide, "Manually creating a VMFS volume using vmkfstools -C"

Step 4 tell me to "Use the partedUtil command to print any existing partitions defined on the chosen disk device"

And..

How did you create existing vmfs partition on these luns.Can you try out this way to delete and create vmfs partition

1. fdisk <device>.In your case its /dev/sdn .

2. delete the existing partitions on the LUN.

3. create new partition (using fdisk) and select the partition type (code ) as fb.

4. Run vmkfstools command as mentioned in KB that you were follwoing with block size set to 8MB.

If this fails,try to create another Lun of size 2000GB.Your existing size is 2199.0 GB.This is to know just if there is any issue with the LUN or physicla media.

We made smaller LUN:s and after that all went OK.
