  • 1.  Can you connect FC between hosts with no switch?

    I have to ESXi 5 hosts with QLogic dual *G HBA FC cards... Is it possible to connect them directly through these adapters? Id like to try and take advantage of a virtual shared storage solution and create the shared datastore over FC.  Thanks

    Yes you can directly plug your ESXI hosts into the controller ports on your array without any issues.

    I have some memory of that VMware only supports Fibre Channel over FC switches. It might have been that only the FC Arbitrated Loop topology was unsupported and point-to-point was ok, but it could be wise to check (even if it does work technically).
