Can't delete file on datastore

Hello

Using ESXi 4.1, 270GB Raid10 Datastore with 100GB free

I have severals bad files created by Veeam software on a Raid 10 datastore.

I can't delete these files and i can't inflate these files.

ex with 1 file :

actual size : 33 792 KB

expected size : 83 886 080 KB

if i try to delete this file :

unable to delete file [SM-R10D] EXCH2010/supp/EXCHANGE2010-000001.vmdk

if i try to inflate this file :

System general error: The parent of this virtual disk could not be opened

How can i solve this ?

Thanks

Can you please provide more details!?

What do you mean by "severals bad files created by Veeam"? Any examples?

Who created the subfolder "supp" in the datastore?

Please post a list of all files for this VM (ls -lisa from the command line if possible) and attach the vmx as well as the vmware*.log files.

There are no VM associated to these files.

i was using veeam software to create a replica from an exchange server. But the process failed/hanged and 5 files were remaining on the datastore.

i have created the "supp" folder to move the file into as i can't delete them.

Seems that are snapshot... check each VM to see that no snapshots are active.

You can use vmkfstools to try to release the lock.

Or simple schedule a reboot of the host.
