Auto Snapshot Manager. Error. click for details

Hi all.

  • Currently trying to install the Dell EqualLogic Auto Snapshot Manager onto a Virtual Machine and connect this to VCenter.

  • When the installer finishes, I browse to the console using the IE shortcut created on the desktop by the installer.

  • The login page appears for username and password to the VCenter

  • The page attempts to load, but generates a message in the top left corner " error. click for details "

I have tried so far:

  • simple uninstall and re-install

  • installation on to a physical machine as opposed to virtual

  • installation onto the Virtual Center (do not try this - it completely screwed my vCenter and inturrupted IIS)

Ideas?

I've tried 2 version of auto-snapshot manager and I've got the same problem.

Due to lack of time, I haven't do any other test.

Got the Answer! - it's now WORKING.

It's the lovely Java Run Time component - the latest release isnt compatible!.... Arrrggghhh.

I was initially running JDK/JRE 6 update 14 (the most current one on the Java website).

Just downloaded version 6.0 from the archive downloads section and then uninstalled the new, reinstalled the old - reboot, then BINGO, it works.

Obviously just some confusion with the latest JRE compiler!

FYI: 6.0 Update 7 is the newest version you can use with ASM/VE. Sun changed the way Java does SSL after that build. That broke the applet. ASM/VE 2.0 should support newer versions of Java JRE.

Here's a link for Update 7

You're welcome. There's a version 1.0.2 of ASM/VE now available. (bug fixes)
