Align RDMs without an outage?

Is there a 3rd party utility that will accomplish this?

Doesn't appear that vOptimizer (Vizioncore) can do this - any others that can?

Thank you.

Hello.

Note: This discussion was moved from the VMware ESX 4 community to the VMware vSphere Storage community.

What storage are your RDMs on?

Good Luck!

Thank you - our RDM's are presented from NetApp Filers and we also have some Compellent Disk.

All of the alignment tech I've seen simply creates a new VMDK with the proper offset and then switches it out for the old one. I've not encountered one that can be done "hot" and have no outage at all.

I've only used the NetApp tool (mbralign) and Double-Take (which auto aligns then you create a replica).

FYI - we have been told that this tool will accomplish disk alignment (without an outage):

(We are going to evaluate it soon).

Come to think of it I'm willing to bet that Zert0 might do this also.
