Added mapped raw lun as a new hard disk, but VM doesn't see it.

ESX 4.0 with two Windows Server 2008 VM's running.

Created volumes with SAN and made them available to the ESX host.

I've gone into the VM settings with my vSphere client and added a new hard disk> mapped raw lun, stored with VM, physical and everything seems to setup correctly after hitting okay. I also increased the sizes of two other disks on this VM. I have rebooted the VM and logged in to the server to find that it does not see the new drive nor does it see the new size increases to the other drives. I rebooted the host and still, nothing new.

What have I done wrong? Why aren't these changes recognized by the VM?

After increasing the disk size or adding new disks, you need to go the the Windows VM's disk management and resize or initialize/partition/format the disks.

Thanks Andre. I really feel like an idiot now. Smiley Happy  It's amazing how fast you forget these small but essential steps.
