Looking to convert 4 x RDM from physical to virtual mode and was noting the mapping files in preparation to delete and re-add but there seem to only be two mapping files?
Pink = Mapping files
Blue = ??
Pink = is your actual files in LUN storage
Blue is your configuration files for mapping the .vmdk to the LUN. Same as your virtual disks it's having a 2 .vmdk one is xxx1-flat.vmdk another one is xxx1.vmdk the xxx1-flat.vmdk is your actual disks and the xxx1.vmdk is only the configuration files.
Is good for you to having a backup before do anything that could be goes wrong.
Correct me if i'm wrong.
Thanks

Refer to KB http://kb.vmware.com/kb/1006599 and you would feel more confident about the conversion. And I have noticed that for virtual disk 1 its rdm.vmdk which would be in virtual compatibility mode and the second disk is rdmp.vmdk which would be in a physical compatibility mode.
If you go to edit setting for the VM and select the virtual disk you would get to know if its in virtual/physical compatibility mode

F10 hit it, but I have to ask Brennan... Why the choice of RDMs for that server?
hehehehe
Jeff, was wondering when you would show up around here.
