Is there way you can detect events using java sdk?

I see the following message in hostd logs.

Event 110 : Lost connectivity to storage device naa.60060e80056496000000649600000607. Path vmhba0:C0:T0:L3 is down. Affected datastores: "shared".

Is there a way I obtain this even via vsphere sdk api and detect that the storage device belonging to a datastore is down and therefore datastore is affected?

The question should be read as:

Is there a way we can catch this event via vsphere sdk api and detect that the storage device belonging to a datastore is down and therefore datastore is affected?

Any sample code using events would help. In particular, I am interested n getting info regarding datastore related events.
