vReplication HTTP error

I just installed vreplication to replicate VMs on a 7.U1 Data Center

The replication seems to work fine however I keep getting errors every 10 minutes while using the VC web client and it disconnects me every now and then from the Site Recovery portal, the error is:

Http failure response for requestHandlers/getVrReplicationDetails: 0 Unknown Error

Http failure response for requestHandlers/getAlarms: 0 Unknown Error

Unable to connect to Lookup Service at https://vc:443/lookupservice/sdk. Reason: https://vc:443/lookupservice/sdk invocation failed with "java.net.UnknownHostException: vc: Temporary failure in name resolution"

I checked DNS but it has 2 DNS servers, up and running and resolution works fine

vreplication appliance version 8.3.1.9087, 17210340

vCenter Version:7.0.1, 17327586

Hey @Sangokan,

DNS could be up and running but maybe you cannot reach them. Are they placed on another network that has a firewall between them?

Try to login into the vSphere Replication Appliance and do a nslookup to see if you got the vCenter resolved.

Hi @Sangokan ,

As Lalegre mentioned, it does seems like a DNS issue.

1. Ensure VR can resolve vCenter FQDN. If not, provide vC IP address and perform save and restart service

2. Please check the VR  hostname under network tab on vSphere replication VAMI portal(https://vRIPaddr:5480). If this does not have a valid address, provide one and generate a new SSL certificate.
