can VR only replicate specific drives?

Hi, we don't want to replicate the entire VM, does VR give you the option to only replicate certian drives?

To be more specific, I want to replicate vmdk #2 of VM1 to vmdk#2 on VM2 at remote site.

Scenario 2: can VR do multi to 1 replication?

vmdk#2 on VM1 I want to replicate to target VM vmdk#2

vmdk#2 on VM2 I want to replicate to target VM (same target VM) vmdk#3

vmdk#2 on VM3 I want to replicate to target VM (same target VM) vmdk #4

etc....

Hi,

VR actually replicates hard drives. Hence you can specify which exacly drives to be replicated. This can be done by switching in advanced mode in the configuration wizard.

Howevver on the target site you don't have placeholder VM when you use VR without SRM. Thus you can't specify which VM to go the replica files to. Also you can't switch the number of device - you just select if a device to replicated or not. During recovery process you need to specify what VR to do with the no replicated drives.
