Hello,
today I tried to update both of my vSphere Replication Appliances from 8.7 to 8.8 but both ends with error.
There is no specific error but appliance ends back on version 8.7. I´ve got only this error in web interface:
Is there any way how to check what happened and where is the issue?
Thanks, Regards,
Petr
See the Release Notes 8.8:
Revert the appliance before the update begins.
Check if the xml-security-c package exist. Run the following command rpm -qa | grep ph2.
The output will be similar to this:
To remove the xml-security-c package, run the following command rpm -e xml-security-c-1.7.3-4.ph2.x86_64.
Continue with the upgrade of the appliance.
Hi PerMai,
I have the same problem after the appliance was reboted.
I'll be waiting for your solution with the VMware support.
Thanks.
Dear all,
facing the same issue. Boot failure after update from 8.7 to 8.8.
Any news on this one?
Thanks!
Not yet. I´am still waiting for answer from VMware support team.
Hello,
today I´ve got the information from VMware support:
"It is under development and is outlined to be incorporated to be included into next patch release for Vsphere replication "
Hello,
you can use the latest VR 8.0.0.1 patch version which should fix all upgrade issues.
vSphere Replication 8.8.0.1 Release Notes (https://docs.vmware.com/en/vSphere-Replication/8.8/rn/vsphere-replication-8801-release-notes/index.h...)
Hope this helps,
Daniel G.
