  • 1.  Rollback VM after Recovery

    Hi everyone,

I've been searching a lot but I can seem to find any scenario quite as ours.

We have following config on the same site:

    ESX1 with own Datastore

    ESX2 with own Datastore

    VCenter is hosted on ESX1

Replication Appliance is running on ESX1 and replicates VMs to the Datastore on ESX2 (Replication within same Vcenter). This seems to be working quite nicely and I am able to recover VMs to ESX2.

I am a little confused to how the procedure after recovery is however.

Assuming the ESX1 is back up after failure and the company has been working on the replicated VMs on ESX2 for a couple of Days / Weeks how do I get the replicated VMs back to ESX1 and replication up and running again without the loss of the produced data for that timeframe?

Maybe I am missing something here but I can't quite figure it out. A little hint would be very much appreciated. :smileyhappy:

    Thank you guys!

As you have vCenter, shared nothing Storage vMotion to relocate the VM.

But I can't vMotion VMs which are handled by the Replication Appliance right?
