Hi Guys,
I'm trying to replicate a test VM using vSphere Replication but it's giving me following error message.
"VM-Test1 Unable to create base virtual disk '[esx1_-datastore]VM-Test1/VM-Test1_1.vmdk' for primary virtual disk with key 2001."
Just to add more details this VM is a Virtual Appliance and has 2 virtual disks attached.
Could someone please guide me how I can resolve this issue.
Regards

Hi,
What is the version of vSphere Replication that you are using? Could you check if your disk is of supported size? Is it an RDM file? Could you also check what is the cause of the failing configure replication task?
Hi,
Please check Monitor -> Tasks for the vCenter Server Web Client UI at the target site.
VirtualDiskManager.createVirtualDisk task has failed. In addition to the Task view in the UI, details should also be available in /opt/vmware/hms/logs/hms.log at the target site and also vpxd log at the vCenter Server at the target site.
Regards,
Martin
Hi Guys,
I didn't find any work around when I had issue, so I just had to manually copy the target disk to destination as it was around a few MBs. While configuring replication I used the copied vmdk as seed and didn't get any error.
Cheers
