Replicating a VM with Sybase ASE

Hello,

I'm interested in replicate  SAP environment, which are Windows servers with Sybase ASE databases to a Disaster Recoveryt center.

Is this replica is consistent? the snapshot of VM, is consistent the DB of Sybase ASE?

Thanks!

vSphere Replication by default is crash consistent replication. It does support VSS quiescing (as well as Linux file system quiescing). Details of application and file level support is outlined here: http://kb.vmware.com/selfservice/microsites/search.do?language=en_US&cmd=displayKC&externalId=204190...

Does this answer your question?

So, if I start the replicated VM, I will not have any problem with the Sybase database or SAP?

thanks

How does it handle an OS crash? Is it compatible with VSS? I would highly recommend that you test it.
