Migrating VM's from one physical site to another with low bandwidth and zero downtime

I will try to make this quick/simple as possible.  Company is looking to move VM's from one environment to another over a long distance (current VM's in South America physically) need to move to North America.  Bandwidth is going to be very slow to move that many VM's using vMotion.  Looking for solutions/options that wouldn't require downtime.  One thought was to download datastores and restore or seed at North America site and then run vsphere replication afterwards to pick up only the changes after initially seeding.

Site Recovery Manager would help with that if you have it. You could try vCenter High Availability between data centers but the network latency must be less than 10 milliseconds. Are the VM's Thin provisioned or Thick? Hope this info is useful.
