High Disk i/o during replication

Has anybody ever experienced high disk i/o on a particular VM during vSphere replication, almost to the point to where the vm is completely locked up and you can't even perform basic functions like open Task Manager?  We had this issue today and as soon I as removed the vm from replication the disk i/o went back to where it would be expected.

Underlying storage is a vSAN datastore.

Hi @sck1025 ,

Do you select 'quiescing' option when configuring replication?  Best Practices for Using and Configuring vSphere Replication . If so try not to select that option and check if you notice issues.

I had come across disk errors, I/O errors in operating system when using vSphere replication. This was resolved by disabling guest unmap within windows. It's worth a try --> https://kb.vmware.com/s/article/2150251

Hope that helps
