We are building an EVPN between our Datacentre's using Cisco catalyst 9000 switches instead of using VMware NSX.
The link between the sites will therefore be layer 2.
In the ideal world we would like to be able to live migrate the VMs from one DC to the other, but this doesnt seem possible as there is no shared storage between DCs.
One option was to use VMware Replication which is included with vCenter to migrate them.
Are there any other options I'm missing we are using vSphere 7.0
Hi @michaelwright19 ,
vSphere replication does not perform live migrations. It creates a copy at the destination and when a recovery is performed, original VMs are shutdown and the copy is registered, powered on at the destination.
