good question. unfortunately I couldnt find a document or matrix which talks about the source and target version compatibility.

dont know why VMware is not publishing a compatibility matrix for DR solutions like SRM and vRM.

Its good to open a ticket with VMware and raise the concern. They should be able to answer you since they can contact engineering team internally.

Short answer you can't

Here's why:

vR 6.1.2 is supported with VC 6.0 U3 only

vR 6.1.1 is supported on VC lower than 6.0 U3

You cannot have two different versions of vR in prod and DR

You cannot have two different VC updates when using VR in prod and DR

thanks Suhas, but is there a public document or kb to confirm 'we cannot have two different versions of vR in prod and DR'?

Interoperability  matrix shows vRM version 6.1 and 6.0 supports all vCenter 6.0.x versions.
