Can I replicate VMs from vSphere 6.7 to vSphere 6.5

Hi,

I have:

Datacenter 1: vcenter 7 with vsphere esxi 6.5 and 7

Datacenter 2: vcenter 6.7 with vsphere 6.7

I need to migrate VMs from datacenter 2 to datacenter 1 and I have a small wan link.

Can I install vsphere replication 8.3.1 in datacenter 2 and migrate the vms to my datacenter 1?

I believe that I will have problems with VMs with hardware in the version of vsphere 6.7, but for that I will downgrade the version to 6.5 on all VMs.

It may seem strange to leave an environment with vpshere 6.7 to 6.5, but it is because the hardware in datecenter 1 is older does not support 6.7.

Thanks.

Hi @sandroalvesbras ,

As far as compatibility is concerned, yes you can replicate VMs from 6.7 to 6.5 ESXi hosts and vice versa. Yes hardware version will come in picture, so lets ensure that the VM hardware is on a version that's compatible with both 6.5 and 6.7 hosts.
