Can I register a new instance of vSphere Replication in a remote vCenter?

Hi,

I'm trying to register a new instance of vSphere Replication 8.4 in a remote vCenter. The appliance is deployed in a vCenter that has access to a second vCenter, the issue here is that I'm unable to register the new instance of vSR in the second vCenter despite it can be reach without problems.

Is it possible to do this or is it mandatory to locate the vSphere Replication appliance at the vCenter where will be registered?

@amarocf ,

Modifying that file won't work.

Hi @amarocf ,

vSphere replication appliance should be deployed in the same vCenter where we need to register it. During deployment, it loads certain vCenter properties to /opt/vmware/etc/vami/ovfEnv.xml file on the vSphere replication appliance.

Hope that helps

Hi, thanks @ashilkrishnan for your answer.

Probably this is not the best thing but, would it be possible to edit this ovfEnv.xml file and trick the appliance?
