vSphere SDK and other VMware Products

Hi All,

If I'm running vSphere and start to add products like AppSpeed and Chargeback, will all their combined information be made available through the vSphere SDK (vCenter) if I want to integrate the data with my systems management platform or does/will each product have a separate API that i'm going to have to investigate?

Hi,

You cannot manage or perform operations on VMware products like AppSpeed and Chargeback using vSphere SDK as vSphere SDK uses VI APIs which are exposed as web services in the ESX hosts. These products are external to ESX hosts and the APIs for the same are not exposed in the ESX.

However, if there is a possiblity to add plug-ins for these products in vCenter, then you can view the plug-in information for the same using the ExtensionManager managed object.
