The Performance Manager's perfCounter method returns the list of all supported performance counters. We have a vCenter setup managing two ESX servers and we get the same result when either calling this method directly on each of the ESX or on the vCenter. Our ESX servers have same versions though.
My question is that when a vCenter is managing different versions of ESX servers which may have some difference among their supported performance counters, then would calling this same method on the vCenter give us an aggregate/union of all the performance counters supported by both versions of the ESXs?
