Hi all,
I found the following problem with VMware Tools.
VMware Tools installed on Linux Guests only report a single FileSystem, even though it has more.
It always reports only /boot partition.
Following is the GuestDiskInfo[] data from our environment, where Guest has 4 partitions.
GuestDiskInfo | Name | Type | Value | ||
---|---|---|---|---|---|
capacity | long | 103512064 | |||
diskPath | string | "/boot" | |||
dynamicProperty | DynamicProperty[] | Unset | |||
dynamicType | string | Unset | |||
freeSpace | long | 92343296 |
|
Has anybody experience the same problem with VMware Tools?
Correct me, If i wrong.
Any immediate help will be grateful to me.
Thanks,
Karthik
The Unix based OSes such as RedHat and Solaris see the disk drive as partitions that it formatted. So, the VMwareTools reports the capacity and free space of the first partition which is the /boot partition.
Thank you for your answer.
But still it isnt solved my problem.
How will i get the list of all the other logical volumes, other than /boot?
Is there any other way to get the list?
Thanks,
Karthik
any solution on this?
