Strange issues, Register VM

Hi!

I am scripting my backup of VMs, which worked fine until vCenter 4:

vCenter 4 does not allow to power on my backup VMs anymore. I can power on them on any host directly, but power on via vCenter fails all the way, with error that vmdk file cannot be found on "empty datastore" ("[] example.vmdk").

All properties/pathes are set properly, as same VM starts on ESX (3 and 4) perfectly fine. Also vCenter shows the correct pathes in options/edit settings menu - but denies to power on.

Anyone seen this before?

VMware possible tries to avoid starting manually copied VMs?

I found out that vCenter 4, and just vCenter, intepretes vmsd files in the VMs folder to have the backups VMs snapshots. This produced the troubles.
