Managed Object ID Naming Convention

Hi,

As far as I understand there are two types of managed object IDs:

  1. Managed Object ID: e.g. datacenter-3009
  2. A longer name that includes the type and the vCenter UUID, e.g. urn:vmomi:Datacenter:datacenter-3009:c974164e-85f3-409e-be3b-19ded5966629

My question is how is each one called (We now use "moid" for both which creates confusion), and a bonus question is how vCenter uses each?

Thanks
