Hello Folks,
I am facing an interesting issue with CreateVM_Task and writing to VMDK using VDDK. Hope someone can help me out. This is my scenario. I have a vSphere 4.0 environment (SAN enabled)say TestVM.
In a SAN enabeld proxy, Do a fullVM vcbmounter of the VM to get the all .vmdk and .vmx files. Transport mode used here is SAN.
Using the info in .vmx files, I create VirtualMachineConfigSpec object using which I create a VM(CreateVM_Task). VM creation is successful.
When I try to write data to VMDK file using VDDK, the SAN tranport mode always fails and then uses NBD mode for writing.
My Doubt is whether I have missed out some attribute/parameter when building the VirtualMachineConfigSpec which makes the SAN failure.
Has anyone faced this before? Is any field in the VirtualMachineConfigSpec which has a role in determining the tranport mode used?
Your help in this regard is much appreciated.
Thanks in Advance,
-Mani.
