Identify virtual disk backing info for Guest OS Drive

Hi,

Is there any way I can know if the
.\PHYSICALDRIVE0,
.\PHYSICALDRIVE1 etc. in my Guest OS maps to what virtual Disk in the vmware. I tried a lot but nobody seems ot have answer to it. Right now I can match config->hardware->device->TargetID and Target ID of my phsycia drive to find the match, but this will not work if there are two virtual disk with same target ID on diff. controllers. Is there any other way to match this .

Any help greatly appreaciated. Vmware folks please help?

VimSDK does currently not support a mapping of partitions to virtual disks. I posted several times on this, and am still interested to get this solved too...

Thats true. I am not sure why vmware folks have missed to put such an imp. requirement in there API's. It would be good if atleast there is any workaround to do such mapping. Can any folks from vmware can help us in this?

Hopeless so far Smiley Wink I was writing feature requests in the forums and sending requests directly to VMware - without any success so long...
