Copying files into a VM ?

Hi,

I'm trying to copy some files into a VM. From what I have read (on this site and others) this is not directly possible with the WebServiceAPI offered by the VMwareInfrastructure (but is quite easy with VMwareServer and VIX-API), please correct me if I'm wrong.

I'm was trying to achieve a similar result by connecting an .iso that contains my files.

I couldn't configure the virtual CD/DVD-Drive to connect to a local .iso (with VirtualCdromPassthroughBackingInfo, as DataDump in Perl revealed that this Object was used when the Drive was connected to a Client .iso (with local I mean the system where Perl is running)), it was however possible to connect to an .iso stored in the Datastore (with VirtualCdromIsoBackingInfo).

As I will be only working with Windows VM, I would then copy those files with commands in the CustomizationGuiRunOnce-object.

However I fell a little uncomfortable going this path and wanted to clarify if there realy isn't any more direct path to get files into a VM.

Systeminfo: Virtual Infrastructer Server 2.0.0, ESX Server 3.0.1
