Chmod command

Hi!

Is it possible to run the chmod command via VI SDK 2.5 or VI Perl Toolkit? How?

By the way, can you be more specific here?

What specific file or object are you trying to affect with chmod?

- A file in a guest OS?

- A file in VMFS (I.E. snapshots, etc)?

- A file in the root file system of the hypervisor?

Hi!

Currently I want to change the permissions of files residing on NFS datastores. Here vmdk and vmx files is most important. I need to to do so to be able to convert "cloned" VMs with VMware Converter which does not have permission otherwise.

Problem is: users on NFS server do not have permission to work with the files exported with vim api on 3i servers. It is a manual job to fix permissions after export. It is no option to script change of perms on NFS server after export.

Fixing perms through the vim api would solve this. We see no other way around it.

What would be the process getting vmware to implement this?

Thanks!
