Can I change the computer name for a cloned VM?

Hello All,

Iam developin an application in which I am using the VC web service to clone a virtual machine.

Can I change the Internal Computer Name of the newly Cloned virtual machine. I mean the computer name in the operating system that the virtual mahine runs?

Yes, you can. During the clone operation, you can include a "CustomizationSpec" which allows you to change the computerName.

In fact i have searched the forum but I found that I can change the inventory name of the virtual machine not the name in the operating system.
