vMA and vCenter together

Does it cause a conflict to have the vSphere Management Assistant and vCenter in the same environment?

No, these two can peacefully exist in the same environment.

vMA is simply a way to use vCLI commands against ESXi hosts without having to log in directly to the ESXi host using console or SSH.  While you can proxy these vMA commands through a vCenter server, vMA and vCenter are otherwise independent and complementary to one another and will not conflict with each other.
