vMA - Still asking for username/password

I have run all the commands to set and verify that the ESXi host I want to manage via the vMA is functional.

vifp listservers --long returns the correct server (complete hostname), type (EXSi) and authentication type (fpauth).

however, a simple command such as esxcli (which would return a quick help list) asks for username and password.

What am I missing here?

Thank you.

Chris

Could this have something to do with:

Server version unavailable at 'https://xxxxxxxx.yyyyyy.zzz:443/sdk/vimService.wsdl' at /usr/lib/perl5/5.10.0/VMware/VICommon.pm line 545, <STDIN> line 2.

Thanks
