How can we use vmkfstools on vMA to create disk for host?

I'm very sorry for my stupid question.

But according to DCA blueprint, we should know how to use vmkftools on vMA to create disk or do other datastore operations.

I normally use vmkfstools directly on esxi server with ssh session.

I never use vmkfstools on vMA and it seems it only works for local server(vMA) and I can't operate on remote server.

Plus, how can we see remote server datastore structure? like /vmfs/volume.

Thanks a lot.

Take a look at the vCLI documentation (http://www.vmware.com/support/developer/vcli/), there is a "remote" version of vmkfstools. If you're familiar with using the vCLI utlities, vmkfstools operates on the same principal. Regarding datastore browsing, you can take a look at using vifs which is also included in the vCLI.

Another useful document is the vCLI reference guide which includes examples - http://www.vmware.com/support/developer/vcli/vcli41/doc/reference/index.html
