Browsing host using the vma

I am in the process of learning VMA

Things seem to be pretty well except I can seem to browse a host structure.  For example when trying to view what datastores are listed in vmfs/volumes.  The commands I use in the service console won't work.

I know I can get to the directory fine because if I do a vmkfstools --queryfs /vmfs/volumes/<datastorename>  it works fine.

Thanks in advance

How are you trying to browse the VMFS volumes in vMA?

vMA includes the vCLI which are vSphere SDK for Perl scripts which remotely communicate to either vCenter and or ESX(i) hosts. Along with the vCLI commands, there are additional vSphere SDK for Perl Utilities which provides additional functionality to help manage and configure youre vSphere environment.

One utility that can help in browsing datastores is the dsbrowse.pl utility - http://www.vmware.com/support/developer/viperltoolkit/viperl41/doc/dsbrowse.html
