I noticed that VIMA's OS specification is a 64-bit Enterprise Linux. Does this mean that we'd need to have a support contract for our Linux?

No, you won't need a Linux support contract. You'll use the Linux OS that's included in VIMA and you can download any updates directly from VMware (not from another vendor) using the vima-update command in VIMA.
