back up the VMDK files with sysmantec backup exec

hello all,

i am a new comer on this platform. i have some virtual machine on my environment and i bought symantec backup exec 2014. i use vmware vsphere 5 hypervisor and i try to backup the VMDK files but every time my backup fail and i don't know why. i want to know if it's necessary to have the enterprise license for VMware to do a backup to my virtual machine?

you do normally do backup the VM with snapshots and not the single VMDKs.

Your backup shurely failes because the VMDK files are in use by the esxi host.
