Running 10 Windows 8 Systems on a vSphere Hypervisor Server

Hi,

we would like to run 10 Windows 8 Systems on a vSphere Hypervisor Server.

Is this in general possible and what will be the minimum hardware configuration to run the Systems with a good performance?

Thanks in advance for the help!

Hi Marc,

Of course it is possible...

Regarding HW requirements they are like for normal Windows 8 machine:

Windows 8: system requirements

  • Processor 1GHz or faster
  • RAM  1GB (32bit) or 2GB (64bit)
  • Hard disk space  16GB (32bit) or 20GB (64bit)
  • Graphics card  Microsoft DirectX 9 graphics device or higher

So you need to take care that you have enough resources for 10 VMs and that is all. The more, the better Smiley Happy

Hi,

it's possible, of course.

Minimum hardware configuration would be ( 10 x ( minimum windows 8 resources + resources needed by the applications you're going to run ) )

As we don't know what you are going to do with your Windows 8 VMs, we can't answer that question Smiley Wink

Be aware that virtual Windows Desktop licensing is a pain, so talk to your license guy Smiley Wink

Its possible for sure! Otherwise they wouldn`t have such a great article with step-by-step guidance:
