I'm new to virtualization management. We have a small company and we want to start working on the issue. We want to test with a single application on a

VMware vSphere Hypervisor application DEMO Version 4.1.0 in a IBM xSeries 306m server 8849.30u, Disk 70 GB, 1.5 GB Mem, 2 network cards, Intel Pentium 4.

I was checking but this server is not listed in the hardware requirements compatible and additioal I'm not sure if 1.5 GB mem is enough

Welcome to the Community -  To give a valid test you should get reasonable representtion of the server you will use - Definitely you will need more memory and a more current processor - I do not believe Pentium 4 chips are supported - The best thing is to find a server that is on the HCL if funding can not support that you might want to take a look at http://vm-help.com/ or http://ultimatewhitebox.com/ for whitebox solutions that run VMware -
