Error Windows Server Upgrade

Dear,

I want to upgrade my VM OS form Windows Server 2012R2 to Windows Server 2022 has an error "0xC1900101 - 0x40021" The Installation failed in the SECOND_BOOT phase with an error during SYSPREP_RESPECIALIZE operation

And then i try to install Windows Server 2019 has some problem failed to upgrade

if have any configuration in my Host?

iam using ESXi 6.5

Make sure you have plenty of free disk space before you do your upgrade. If that doesn't work I would look into what is possibly corrupt with the OS.

Hi Alan,

my free space in local disk c: is up to 70GB, i think not issue about that, and then i was try sfc /scannow

Before you begin the upgrade process, ensure that you met all Server 2022 system requirements. Try consider the following when doing the upgrade.

  • You cannot do in-place upgrade from Windows Server 2012 to 2022
  • Upgrade to 2016, then to 2019 and finally to 2022
  • Ensure you have enough storage and member in place

as i know you cant upgrade from 2012 to 2022 you must first upgrade to next version 2016 . . . .
