503 Service Not Available

The installation instructions worked for me but I receive a 503 error at the <host>/ui location.  Running esxcli software vib list confirms that the vib is installed.

Hello,

Yes that works with earlier ESXi releases (3/4.x) ....but from ESXi 5.x  this is  the standard behavior because "direct" web access  is only allowed through vCenter server via Web Client.

However from ESXi 6.0 and with the new Embedded Host Client fling you can access host directly without vCenter server and C# client deployed...:)

Hi, this is a known issue with 5.5 hosts and 6.0 hosts upgraded from 5.5

Please edit /etc/vmware/rhttpproxy/endpoints.conf and remove the line starting with /ui then restart rhttpproxy with /etc/init.d/rhttpproxy restart.

Also, for 5.5 U2 and prior you need to have a trailing / after UI.

I'm getting the same 503 error. We've upgraded from 5.1U3 to 5.5U3a. The vib installed successfully but I'm getting this error. Any ideas?

Can you show me the content of  /etc/vmware/rhttpproxy/endpoints.conf?
