No option to create datacenter

I am creating a lab environment and tried to create a new datacenter but I do not have that option.  I only have the inventory and roles option.  Can someone tell me why that would be?

Seems like you're connected directly on your ESXi host... to create a Datacenter, first connect to your vCenter Server using the vSphere Client: Creating Datacenters and Clusters in vCenter Server - YouTube

Thanks for the response but if you notice in the screenshot I don't have the option to go into hosts and clusters.  Why would that be?

Like I told you on my first post, your screenshot shows that you're connected directly on ESXi host instead of be connect on vCenter.

To create a Datacenter, connect to the vCenter Server using vSphere Client.
