Hi folks)
Are is possible to install SDK or CLI without root access? Of course, Linux))
For investigate purpose, best to install it into chroot env or as restricted user. I afraid, and many people can say same, install 3-rd parity software on live, working system.
Force root install depend from license restrictions? Or, I not carefully reading manual?
With best whishes - Y.D.
no that I'm aware of.

You'll need escalated privileges to install vCLI which talks to the vSphere SDK ( you don't install the SDK as it's part of ESX(i) or vCenter exposed as WSDL web services). You don't necessary need to install with root account, standard user accounts can but will probably need to issue a sudo

I think)))), sudo implies write access to root filesystem. Are is possible install to dir like /home/username/SDK?
no that I'm aware of.
